Ds. August Ahrbeck (Kaapstad, 15 Augustus 1851 – Somerset-Wes, 26 Februarie 1935)[1] was 'n Afrikaanse taalstryder, 'n stigter van die Genootskap van Regte Afrikaners en van 1883 tot 1903 leraar in twee gemeentes van die Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk, naamlik die NG gemeente Prieska en daarna die NG gemeente Ugie.
Ahrbeck het reeds van 'n vroeë ouderdom begin doof word, waarskynlik die rede waarom hy twee jaar op 'n beroep moes wag in 'n tyd toe daar 'n skaarste aan predikante in die NG Kerk was. Hy het die beroep in 1883 na Prieska aangeneem as dié gemeente se eerste leraar, maar ná enkele jare het sommige kerkraadslede klagtes teen hom ingebring wat eindelik gelei het tot sy bedanking in 1893. Hierna het hy te midde van swaarkry omdat hy met net £500 van Prieska weg is, enkele jare as hulpprediker onder NG lidmate in die destydse Transkei-gebied gewerk tot hy in 1903 op Ugie as die gemeente se eerste leraar bevestig is.
Ongelukkig het sy gesondheid so agteruitgegaan dat hy verplig is om sy emeritaat in 1905 aan te vra. Nadat hy en sy vrou hulle op Somerset-Wes gevestig het, het 'n lokomotief in 1910 sy een been verbrysel omdat hy nie die trein kon hoor aankom nie. Nietemin het hy, afgesonder van die wêreld weens sy doofheid, nog tot 1935 gelewe toe hy oorlede is in die destyds hoë ouderdom van 83 jaar. Hy en sy vrou was kinderloos. Mev. Ahrbeck is in 1943 oorlede.
